TRAFFIC SIGNS - PLACAS DE TRÂNSITO

Olá pessoal, hoje vamos aprender algo super legal para o nosso dia a dia. Quem nunca pensou, será que em um país que tenha o inglês como primeira língua a sinalização de transito funciona do mesmo jeito que no Brasil? Veremos como funcionam as placas e seus respectivos significados em inglês.

As placas são divididas em categorias de funções: “construction sign”, “guide sign”, “recreation sign”, regulatory sign”, “service sign” e “warning sign”.

Construction Signs – Placas de construção

Construction signs let us know when people are working on the road. Sometimes someone called a “flagger” will stand in the road with a sign that tells you to stop or go slower. Construction signs are usually black and orange.Placas de construção nos avisam quando tem pessoas trabalhando na estrada.  Às vezes tem uma pessoa com uma bandeira na estrada indicando para pararmos ou irmos devagar. Placas de construção geralmente são pretas e laranjas.

Guide Signs – Placas de orientação

 

Guide signs help us know where we are, and how to get where we want to go. Sometimes they also tell people the destination of coming roads and how far one must go to get there.
Placas de identificação e orientação nos ajudam a identificar onde estamos e como podemos chegar onde queremos ir. Às vezes elas nos informam o destino de algumas estradas e a distância para chegar a tal destino.

Recreation Signs – Placas turísticas

 

A recreation sign provides information about recreational sites or facilities that are available to the public. These signs are usually brown and indicate directions to museums, historic sites, scenic overlooks, and public parks.Placas de atrativos turísticos informam sobre locais de área recreativa disponível ao público. Estas placas são geralmente marrons e indicam direções para museus, locais históricos, mirantes e parques públicos.

Regulatory Signs – Placas de regulamentação

Regulatory signs tell people how to obey the rules (regulations) of the road. They tell people how fast or slow they should go, what kinds of turns they are allowed to make, and other information about road rules.Placas de regulamentação nos informam como obedecer às regras da estrada. Elas avisam às pessoas a velocidade que devem seguir, as conversões permitidas, e outras informações sobre as ruas.

Service Signs – Placas de Serviço

Services signs help people find things they need like hospitals, food, gas, or hotels.Placas de serviço ajudam as pessoas a encontrar lugares que precisam como hospitais, restaurantes, postos de abastecimento ou hotéis.

Warning Signs – Placas de advertência

Warning signs give us early warning about dangers on the road.Placas de advertência nos avisam com antecedência sobre perigos na estrada.
